Outlook is an email service provided by Microsoft which is used by both individuals as well as business for sending and receiving emails for communication purpose. Outlook was earlier called Hotmail and after Microsoft acquired it in 1997, it was then renamed as Outlook. Since then Outlook has come a long way making it one of the most popular email communication service. It is constantly ranked as top 3 email services for business thanks to its numerous features provided for end to end security for emails that contains encryption algorithms for safely sending data across networks.

One of such features is blocking the attachments. Sometimes when you receive an e-mail in Outlook that which has an attachment, you might see the message written below at the top of the email

Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments

This has been included in all versions of Outlook to enhance the security provided by Microsoft in email communication. This is helpful but it may sometime not allow you to see the attachments you want.

To counter it, following options can be chosen to see the blocked content:

1) Open the content in File share: There are numerous File share apps and services available over the internet which allow any kind of files to open. You can open your attachment in a file share environment which will be accessible to you.

2) Change the extension: When you are trying to attach a file with a particular extension say .exe, Outlook automatically considers it to be a threat as .exe files could be a software program meant for virus attack. In order to attach your file, just change the extension to some other name and then attach.

3) Attach zipped files: Instead of attaching individual files of different extension and large size, you may want to put all the attachments in a folder and then zip it. Then you attach the zip file so that outlook will look at the zipped file once and scan it accordingly. This will allow outlook to attach the file regardless of the extensions of individual contents of the zipped folder.

In case of any technical assistance, you can contact Outlook tech support. You can also contact Outlook phone number to get in touch with customer service for any issues
